Responsible for leading a team of associates ensuring the successful execution of Regional and corporate marketing programs that build brand equity, drive store traffic, stimulate line and product sales, drive the ideal customer experience, and meet company objectives for operational excellence in all distribution channels.  Responsible for managing cross-functional prioritization, projecting  management, communication and implementation of marketing strategies and programs in a specific geographic region. 

 

Responsibilities

·         Lead and develop team of Field Marketing Managers responsible for local market support of all marketing initiatives including promotions, product, pricing, retention, sponsorships, advertising and program communication.
 

·         Serve as the leader of the “execution arm” for corporate and regionally developed marketing programs to meet established goals: including revenue targets, gross add targets and expense budgets. Plans should include objectives, product introduction timeline, targeted market segments, training schedules and budget guidelines.

·         Serve as the regional “voice of the customer and front line associate,” providing key frontline and customer inputs into corporate and regional driven strategies and plans.

 

·         Lead via the key principles of U.S. Cellular’s Dynamic Organization – with a Customer Focus, and Respect for others, Empowerment, Ethics and Pride.

 

·         Demonstrate passion and excitement for serving customers.

·         Encourage and empower others to achieve by creating enthusiasm, setting clear expectations                                                                and challenging goals.

·         Develop Field Marketing associates through recruiting, hiring, and performance feedback measures.

·         Motivate, inspire and coach sales leaders, customer service leaders and front line associates to deliver an ideal customer experience through a clear understanding of all product programs and strategies.

·         Manage communication and workflow between Field, Regional, Customer Care and RSO leadership.

·         Partner with RSO to understand annual marketing strategy, project timelines and regional implementation of related programs.

·         Partner with other members of Regional Marketing Team to ensure initiatives and priorities are established, aligned and executed with clear expectations.

·         Identify key training needs for various distribution channels and departments.  Partner with the training department to develop training materials and assist in conducting training for new product introductions, promotions, calling plans, and other associate needs.

·         Consistently demonstrate clear project direction and on-going project leadership across multiple product teams by leading meetings, conference calls and sharing best practices.

·         Manage effective communication process to ensure local market issues regarding promotions, product, pricing, retention and competition are represented to Regional and RSO Management.

·         Ensure timely analysis of financial results, trends and other metrics, providing recommendations for action if necessary, and communicate results to Regional leadership. 

·         Coordinate various resources and ensure joint planning and prioritization with effective hand-offs between marketing, finance, human resources, sales, IS, customer service, public relations and engineering assuring a timely and well-orchestrated roll out of new products, services, and promotions.

·         Coordinate with RSO and Field Marketing Managers for various friendly user test equipment programs ensuring evaluations are completed and communicated to Corporate stakeholders.

·         Partner with Regional Advertising Manager to understand brand strategy and to provide the local market knowledge required to maximize our media spend.

·         Coordinate regional and local advertising efforts and events for assigned market. 

·         Ensure that all market personnel understand and act in accordance with the brand strategy.

·         Consolidate and prioritize collateral needs and marketing support requirements    necessary to facilitate the sales of products through various channels of distribution.

·         Responsible for Field Marketing’s annual budget.

·         Develop and coordinate sponsorship project plans with Sales leaders and Sponsorship and Events Coordinator.

·         Acts as liaison with phone manufacturers to ensure product knowledge and identify and facilitate associate training opportunities. Develop relationships with equipment vendors and create partnering programs.

·         Travel as required.

 

Qualifications

 

·         Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related discipline or equivalent experience in a related field required.   Masters degree a plus.

 

·         Minimum 6-8 years of applicable experience required, preferably in marketing or retail.

 

·         Previous experience in a supervisory role preferred. 

 

  •   Ability to successfully lead across organizational boundaries, including strong relationship management skills  required.

 

·         Proven analytical, financial and organizational skills required. 

 

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills required.

 

·         Experience leading cross-functional teams while handling multiple projects is required.

 

·         PC proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets (Word and Excel) required.

 

·         Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams to implement successful marketing programs required.

 

·         Project management and sales experience preferred.

 

·         Customer and associate focus with a willingness to meet with customers on the front-line is required.

 

·         Business knowledge of the wireless industry is preferred.

 

·         Team Oriented.

 

  •   25-50 % overnight travel is anticipated.
