The successful deployment of logistics solutions
requires continuous assessment of customers’ needs, operations and
supply chain solutions. This position will be responsible for leading a
team responsible for all strategic and operational aspects of logistics,
quality and field service programs for wireless devices and accessories.
This person will drive the design, implementation and management of
logistics programs, including forward logistics (Fulfillment to all
channels) and reverse logistics (Repair, Loaner, OTM and OTC programs).
Responsible for the management of external vendors contracted to support
the logistics programs (3PL's), including RFP's, contract negotiations,
contract management and relationship management. This position will also
require program development, communications, training, financial
analysis and budgeting. Ensures the logistics operations operates
effectively and efficiently and provides an excellent customer
experience with a positive impact on sales and profitability.

Responsibilities |
- Responsible for the strategic and operational
oversight of all logistics operations and program offerings.
- Develop business cases including investment
requirements, revenues, and costs; define high level operational
requirements and assessment of competitive positioning. Make
recommendations on those opportunities.
- Responsible for managing all external vendor
partners that support U.S. Cellular logistics programs, negotiating
new contract terms and establishing service level agreements.
- Responsible for aligning logistics programs
with the strategic vision of the organization. Analyzes, designs and
implements logistics programs that support organizational goals.
- Drives the communication and stakeholding of
the logistics programs across the organization.
- Aligns and prioritizes all logistics projects
and programs with long-term operations roadmap. Plans resources in
order to complete competing priorities in provided timeline.
- Identifies new opportunities to increase the
efficiency and effectiveness of all logistics programs and
operations, including sourcing new vendors and/or opportunities.
- Ascertaining industry/logistics best
practices to identify new and/or unique programs to differentiate
U.S. Cellular® from the marketplace and drive customer satisfaction
- Defines requirements to support new
organizational initiatives that impact the logistics organization
- Financial and budgetary responsibility,
including business case development (if necessary), for all new and
existing logistics programs, operations and initiatives
- Analyze financial results and take
appropriate actions to ensure operational excellence. Develop and
execute to key financial and business targets/metrics.
- Through strategy development, providing
direction and goal setting ensure successful facilitation of focus
groups, surveys and presentations, both pre- and post-launch of new
program/project/system in order to gather feedback for continuous
improvement and stay close to the customer experience.
- Accurately assess strengths and development
needs of others; coach your team and provide timely, specific
feedback and helpful coaching; provides challenging assignments and
opportunities for development. Seeks commitment to taking action or
making behavioral changes.
- Responsible for internal communications and
presentations related to all logistics programs, operations and
initiatives.
- Provide content and direction for training.
In some instances, lead development of training.

Qualifications |
- Bachelors Degree Required in Business, Supply
Chain, Operations and/or related field, MBA strongly recommended
- Minimum 7-10 years experience in logistics,
operations management and/or supply chain management
- Advanced experience with standard MS Office
Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability
to lead diverse and cross-functional teams, including external
vendors
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation
skills
- Strong team orientation, both internal and
external, with ability to coach and mentor regardless of reporting
relationship
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple
assignments simultaneously
- Proven project management and analytical
skills.
- Proven excellent written and oral
communication skills, including speaking in front of small and large
groups.
- Well organized, strong administrative and
detail oriented skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate
and negotiate strategic business partnerships
- APICS-CPIM or equivalent certification
preferred.
