The Direct Marketing Manager (Email) is responsible for the development, management and execution of email marketing campaigns.  The Direct Marketing Manager (Email) will: work with outside agencies, third party vendors, and internal departments to create, produce, and execute email campaigns for acquisition and/or base marketing initiatives; manage and define new and existing processes and procedures for efficient and effective email campaign management; be accountable for resolving issues as well as proposing solutions for resolution.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

Owns:

  • Develop and implement email marketing campaigns that support customer lifecycle and/ or acquisition  strategies to purchase new products /equipment or additional products and services that increase revenue and usage (e.g. new plans, equipment sales, vertical feature sales, data services, and additional lines)
  • Work with database analysts to mine the customer database to target customers for relevant email marketing campaigns.
  • Work with analysts to review acquisition and/or customer base campaigns to determine success and areas of improvement.  Develop and communicate results to constituents.
  • Develop budgets for programs. Ensure costs are managed appropriately to budget.
  • Interacts with internal teams and IT to coordinate  opportunities with operational execution of email campaigns.

  • Stays on top of industry trends, legal and regulatory environment, and acts as subject matter expert both to internal and external clients communicating pertinent information.

  • Coordinates email campaigns within the context of multi-channel campaigns by working in a collaborative manner across internal departments

  • Collaborates with internal USCC teams especially IT in identifying and developing procedural changes, strategies and email collection aimed at greater efficiency.
  • Participates in the development and management of new and existing processes and procedures for efficient email campaign management.

  • Helps stakeholders interpret the results of their stand-alone email campaigns, and within the context of multi-channel campaign strategy.

  • Helps build and improve email marketing strategies.

  • Performs other duties and assignments as required

  • Approves:
  • Email marketing campaigns to ensure they are in line with strategic and financial objectives.
  • Work performed by vendors in support of email campaigns / programs.
  • All stages of email development.

  • Participates:
  • Key participant in product, promotion, and strategy planning to understand opportunities for acquiring new customers and/or marketing to the existing customer base through email channel.

 

 

Qualifications

 
  • 2 -5 years of directly applicable experience in email marketing  

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience.  Education should include both formal and work related experiences

  • Significant email campaign management experience required

  • Comprehensive understanding of CAN SPAM, compliance issues, deliverability issues, suppression management, and other critical factors impacting email marketing.

  • Experience in implementing life-cycle or trigger based email campaigns.

  • Background in developing email creative, analyzing performance, and making recommendations regarding content and layout to increase performance.

  • Proficient with Powerpoint, Word and Excel. Ability to use to Excel for managing data and performing quantitative analysis. Exposure to databases and query tools for customer targeting

  • Understanding of data structures and ability to apply best practices to client data integration and existing client databases.

  • Understanding of HTML and Internet technologies

  • Experience / exposure to other eMarketing channels / initiatives (SEM, online advertising, web analytics, etc.) a plus

  • Experience working with outside agencies is desired.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills are required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Business knowledge of the wireless industry is a plus.
