Successfully lead a team of product managers within the fast paced wireless telecommunications industry.  Organize cohesive short and long-term solution strategies for products/services for which responsible.  Direct the product/service lifecycle from product development, launch and on-going management to ensure achieving company revenue targets and cost goals. Create and ensure the successful execution of marketing programs to stimulate sales and meet company objectives for operational excellence.   Ensure joint planning and prioritization with effective hand-offs between Product Management and Product Operations.  Analyze and recommend allocation of resources based on evaluation of priorities to attain company strategic initiatives.  Understand the wireless industry and the technologies that support it; be able to direct team members in their roles in regards to technology.  Develop criteria/metrics of success for their team, working closely with the Senior Manager, Product Operations to ensure an integrated approach to achieving business goals.
 

 

 

Responsibilities

  •  Manage the service/product lifecycle for the suite of products assigned.

  • Deliver revenue target and cost goals while ensuring customer satisfaction with the products and services for which they are responsible.

  • Creation of marketing/training programs, integrated amongst RSO and Regional plans, to achieve revenue goals.

  • Motivate and inspire team of product managers to produce financial results based on marketing standards of excellence and with customer satisfaction and the Dynamic Organization as the determinant force.

  • Initiate, develop and manage strong partnerships with key stakeholders (internal and external) in order to successfully lead development, execution, and analysis of product management/development and lifecycle marketing/management.

  • Develop a common vision and provide clear direction and priorities; clarify roles and responsibilities. 

  • Prepare people for needed changes and effectively manage implementation.  Solicit input from others, share all relevant information and respect others contributions; gain support and commitment from others; mobilize people to take action.

  • Considers a broad range of internal and external factors when solving problems; identifies critical high-payoff strategies and prioritizes team efforts accordingly; recognizes strategic opportunities for success; adjusts actions and decisions for focus on critical strategic issues.

  • Ensure timely analysis of financial results/trends and other metrics, providing recommendations for action if necessary.  Communicate results to the larger organization. Financial information will be in consultation and collaboration with responsible reporting/analysis teams.

  • Clearly document various phases of projects/initiatives and communicate to various levels internally and externally.

  • Build effective teams committed to organizational goals; fosters collaboration among team members and among teams; uses teams to address relevant issues. Builds positive energy/attitude amongst the group.

  • Successful execution of go to market, launch, maintenance and close out marketing strategies and programs.

Budget Accountability:

  • Minimum $1M in marketing and cost center expenses.

Revenue Responsibility:

  • Minimum $20M in annual (accumulated for new product initiatives) revenue goals.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • The ability to lead/guide/direct others in the application of their knowledge to fulfill the goals of the organization.
  • Proven project management skills, including effectively managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Understanding of statistics and their use in designing and measuring effectiveness of marketing programs.
  • Ability to prioritize projects within team and amongst greater team to achieve business goals, including understanding of allocation and analysis of additional resources.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills, including speaking in front of small and large groups, motivational/informational speech and negotiations.
  • Well organized, strong administrative and detail oriented skills.

Education and/or professional experience necessary:

  • Minimum 7+ years in product management, product development, sales or marketing.  Professional experience within the software or telecommunications industries or with a wireless voice/data service provider is a plus.
  • Previous experience managing people/teams.
  • Knowledge of wireless carrier/customer operations is highly recommended.  Experience or knowledge of retail operations a plus.
  • BA/BS Marketing, Business.  Technical undergraduate education with business/product management professional experience will be considered.  Strong preference to MBA and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced experience with standard MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
