Agent Account Executive - Central Region 

This position will act as a liaison between U.S. Cellular and its national and local authorized agents. It will manage and support agent accounts, ensure proper execution of sales and organizational goals, and deliver excellent customer service. It will be responsible for implementing policies and procedures related to the agent operations, as well as the design and delivery of training programs for our new agents. It will be also be responsible for business planning, advertising, merchandising, and sales activities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and supporting agent accounts by developing business/sales plans and strategies, communicating sales goals and productivity expectations, tracking agent productivity and trend analyses in order to provide coaching and feedback to agents, building strong personal and business relationships with co-ops, associates, and agents, making site visits to agent locations for inspection of store operations, comparing business activities to business plan goals and recommending adjustments where necessary, recognizing high performing agents, assessing and making recommendations for low performing agents, conducting churn analyses, monitoring agent budgets, and managing the phone demonstration program.

  • Will provide agent customer service by visiting agent locations, assisting with problem troubleshooting and resolution activities, following up with customers regarding their requests, providing feedback to agents on final resolutions, making adjustments to customer accounts when necessary, assisting agents with proper completion of contracts, service orders, and co-ops, disseminating all information to agents regarding price plans, trends, product changes, promotions, and supply updates.

  • Will provide agent education and training by assessing training needs and requirements, coordinating training events, conducting agent training or retraining in the areas of floor techniques, selling skills, positioning products/services, customer interaction etiquette, programming phones, and new hire processes, distributing reference materials, and observing agents' skills and providing feedback and coaching on a timely basis.

  • Responsible for agent promotional activities by working with agents to develop advertisements and strategies, informing agents of U.S. Cellular advertising protocol, monitoring agent advertisements to ensure consistency with pre-approval process, reviewing and submitting advertisement claims, recording advertisement information in the appropriate system, and providing merchandising materials to agents.

  • Will conduct administration activities such as preparing and submitting reports (demo, inventory count reports, expense reports, labor/time sheets, deposit papers), recruiting new agents, reviewing agent's contract for accuracy, completing commissions paperwork on agents, documenting sales information, maintaining calendar of activities and events, conducts and participates in staff meetings, and develops a network of people to assist with procedures or problem resolution issues.

  • Will provide technical and professional development by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of U.S. Cellular offerings, reviewing product guides and manuals, partnering with peers to learn troubleshooting techniques, attending company sponsored training, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of competitors offerings, reading literature from both internal and external sources to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.

  • Minimum one year sales, customer service and/or retail experience required.

  • Experience with conducting classroom style training, or public speaking preferred.

  • Strong negotiating, oral and written communication skills required. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet preferred.

  • Ability to travel within the market required.
