Responsibilities
|
This role plays a key
part in enabling critical business system processing. Creates and
maintains jobs and schedules for all batch processing. Identifies
automation opportunities within the Operations team and assists with
design and development of solutions. Assists with disaster recovery
planning and testing. Provides subject matter expertise for support
teams with respect to batch scheduling. Defines and maintains scheduling
best practices. Evaluates daily processing and makes recommendations for
improvement.

Installs,
configures, maintains, tunes and upgrades the hardware, operating

opportunities to save costs and more effectively manage assets and

communication of process and procedure changes to key stakeholders

identification and collection of metrics and performance reporting

Monitors delivery
against SLAs and reports exceptions to management

process improvement initiatives, when applicable

Qualifications |
|

College degree in
related technical / business areas or equivalent work experience
-
2 to 5 years
relevant work experience
-
Working knowledge
of Unix
-
Working
understanding of client/server architecture
-
Basic knowledge of
distributed computing Unix tools (ssh, scp, ping, etc)
-
Basic understanding
of networking
-
Intermediate
Microsoft Excel- Ability to import and export data, sort/filter and
create charts, create formulas, etc.

Prior experience
with Tivoli Workload Scheduler or another batch scheduling tool
-
Basic understanding
of databases and tables
-
Understanding of
the technology organization and / or business and technology
-
Re-engineering /
process improvement experience, leading and coaching quality
improvement projects

Strong change
management skills; change agent
-
Excellent problem
solving / analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools

Excellent written
and verbal communication skills

Ability to create /
define metrics that accurately reflects the current state of a given
process

Knowledge of ITIL,
Six Sigma, CMM and/or other relevant methodologies

On call
responsibilities including evenings/weekends as necessary.
